Gout is an inflammatory type of arthritis that causes sudden and severe joint pain that normally starts in the top of the foot. This disease more commonly affects men. The term “bilateral” means arthritis affects both left and right sides of the body.

- Avoid purines, common chemical compound found in food and drinks that turn into uric acid
